Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears in lightning delay

Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are headed to a delay in the first half of their Thursday Night Football matchup.

This week’s edition of Thursday Night Football is bringing us another chapter of the most storied rivalry in the game as the Chicago Bears are on the road taking on the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field. The game was off to a pretty quick start, for the Packers at least, as Green Bay jumped out to a 14-0 lead thanks to some horrible Bears miscues. However, that momentum has come to a halt for now.

Early in the first half, there was some lightning that appeared in the area, and when that happens, there is no playing around whatsoever. The teams were asked to leave the field and the fans departed for some shelter as the bad weather moves in. This one is official in a weather delay for lightning.

Yes, this looks bad.

People sometimes feel inconvenienced when something like this takes place, but the fact of the matter is that it’s all about the safety of everyone in the stadium first. You could see clearly from the TV broadcast as the rain started to pour down that the conditions were going to be brutal, so we’re all gonna have to wait a bit for this one to resume on Thursday night.

The Packers go into the locker room with a 14-0 lead over the Bears as they look to move to 3-1 on the year. Meanwhile, prior to the delay, this one was not looking all that promising for the Bears, who were mistake prone heavily to start.
