How in the world did the Packers get this field goal off against the Lions?

Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers completed one of the best fire drills that you will ever see on Monday night against the Detroit Lions.

The first half of the Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions was seemingly one-sided, with the Lions nearly heading into the half with a 14-0 lead. They still went into the locker room with a 14-3 lead, but the Packers’ special teams unit should be pretty darn proud of how they got those three points.

Looking to put anything on the scoreboard before the half, the Packers were driving down the field wanting to at least get a field goal off. Well, after Brett Hundley got a pass completed over the middle of all places with 10 seconds left on the clock and no timeouts, that didn’t really seem possible. Little did we know, though, just how prepared the Green Bay special teams unit was.

Watch the coordination and preparedness here as they rush their way onto the field and Mason Crosby is able to get the 35-yard field goal as time expires.

OK, look, that was just amazing. Nine times out of 10 in this situation, with any team, there’s no way they’re making it out there in time to get this field goal off. This has to be one of the more underrated plays of the entire season so far.

Things may not have gone all that well for the Packers against their rivals on Monday night as they stumbled their way through the first half, but this was a pretty nice way to take some momentum into the half.

Now whether or not this depleted team can do anything with the momentum — well, that’s a completely different story altogether.
