It would be one of the biggest upsets in NFL history, but there are ways the Titans can beat the Patriots on Saturday.
There might not be a team in the postseason as universally disrespected as the Tennessee Titans. To put it nicely, there isn’t anyone who isn’t a Titans fan giving them much of a chance this week in New England. The folks out in the desert have set the spread at roughly two touchdowns, which is massive in any game but incredible for the playoffs. In some ways, it’s not surprising. The Patriots finished the regular season with six more wins than the Titans and on paper are the superior team.
That doesn’t mean the Titans should be taken lightly. It would be an absolutely stunning upset if they won, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
Tennessee showed a ton of heart last week in Kansas City. They entered that game as eight-point underdogs and fell behind 21-3 before roaring back to emerge with a win. Part of that comeback was helped by the fact that the Chiefs forgot running back Kareem Hunt existed but that’s not something the Titans should apologize for. The chances for a win aren’t the best for Tennessee this week. There are still clear paths to victory for Tennessee and it’s possible they can pull off a massive upset.
