The Philadelphia Eagles won their first championship since 1960, and the fans in the City of Brotherly Love are going to party well into the week.
You may have seen it, but in case you didn’t know, the folks in Philadelphia partied pretty hard after the Eagles won Super Bowl LII over the Patriots on Sunday night. Luckily for them, they will be able to party some more — hopefully like adults this time around — when the team holds its parade later in the week.
Details are sketchy at this point, but here’s what we know. The parade is reportedly happening on Wednesday, which would be in line with most of what we’ve seen from other cities in the past. However, the weather forecast is calling for rain throughout the day, which would have Thursday being a viable alternative.
For what it’s worth, Philadelphia mayor Jim Kenney has already told media outlets that he believes the parade will go Thursday, so keep your eyes open if you plan on attending.
While it hasn’t been announced what the parade route will be for the Eagles, it would make sense if they followed something similar to the Philadelphia Phillies’ route in 2008. That year, the Phillies went from 20th and Market Streets to City Hall before hitting Broad Street. After that , it was towards the stadium complex, which has buildings for the 76ers, Flyers, Phillies and Eagles.
The time has not been announced yet either, although the Phillies’ jaunt through the city began at noon ET.
