NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall is a well-known player in the game today. His jersey collection has reached legendary status.
To say Brandon Marshall is a star player is an understatement. A twelve-year career. Over 12,000 yards receiving reached. Six selections to the NFL Pro Bowl, and two-time All-Pro selection. He holds the record for most seasons with 100+ receptions (6), most receptions in a game (21), and is the first player in history to earn 1,000 yards in a season with four different teams.
The 2017 season will be Marshall’s first with the New York Giants, making the trek from the New York Jets. His performance in 2016 was not as expected, but considering it was with the Jets could be the reason. But it is not the performance of Marshall that is legendary. It is his jersey collection.
Odell Beckham Jr., Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald. Adam Vinatieri, Calvin Johnson, and Pierre Garson. Richard Sherman, Darrelle Revis, Randy Moss, and Cris Carter. Champ Bailey. John Lynch. These are just a few of the names that pop off the wall of Marshall’s display of jerseys. Receivers mostly, but defensive backs and kickers. Most of them appear signed, but even if they are not, the collection is amazing.
As Marshall pans the camera around, he makes statements to bring attention to the awesomeness of the items. That includes stating “Hall of Famers, man.” The final shot of the video focuses on the jersey of Jay Cutler. In a bit of humor or sarcasm, Marshall stutters while saying something – which again sounds like “Hall of Fame” – never really saying anything. I will leave that for interpretation.
Still, to see such a collection is a thing of beauty. All of the players worthy of respect and adoration. We all wish to own such a collection. But, we are forced to sit back and drool over the video.
Pass a napkin, please.
