Ezekiel Elliott is one of the bright young stars in the NFL, but he has to stop putting himself in tough situations off the field.

During the 2016 NFL season, Ezekiel Elliott established himself as arguably the best young running back in the NFL. However, he has had a tough time staying out of trouble off the field, and on Sunday, got into another incident at a Dallas bar. Elliott was not arrested, and there is no police report, but the NFL will definitely be looking into it. The former Ohio State Buckeye is already under investigation by the league for an alleged domestic abuse incident.

Staying in the NFC East, the Washington Redskins failed to make a deal with quarterback Kirk Cousins on Monday. The deadline to sign guys off the franchise tag was 4 p.m. ET on Monday, and Cousins joined guys like Le’Veon Bell and Trumaine Johnson in reaching no deal. Cousins will play under the franchise tag for the second straight season, and if it happens again in 2018, he will be owed $35 million.

The Carolina Panthers made a splashy move on Monday, and it did not involve any players. The team dismissed general manager Dave Gettleman of his duties and will head into training camp in nine days without a GM. Gettleman was not liked very much by his players, including former ones, who took to social media to display their pleasure with his firing on Monday.

Jared Goff has taken a couple of steps forward in his development this offseason according to teammate Johnny Hekker. The punter told reporters that Goff had “grown a ton,” and that the team has much more confidence in him. Goff went 0-7 as a starter last season, and if he does not succeed on the field in 2017, the team may look to draft another quarterback high in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The legend of Marshawn Lynch as an Oakland Raider continues to grow. Not only did the hometown kid come out of retirement to give the Raiders an explosive running back for the upcoming season, but he also got to throw out the first pitch at the Oakland A’s game on Sunday. Lynch gives the Raiders the kind of running back they need to challenge the Kansas City Chiefs for supremacy in the AFC West this upcoming season.
