Derek Carr is out to prove he’s not just an NFL quarterback, but a man of many talents. He tweeted a video teasing at a potential music career.
It’s been quite the offseason for Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
After leading the Raiders to a 12-4 record and their first playoff appearance since 2002, Carr earned a big payday this offseason. He signed a five-year, $125 million contract, which makes him the highest-paid player in the NFL.
As it turns out, Carr isn’t limiting his talents to just the football field. He could have a potential music career in the works, or so we think.
Today Carr tweeted a short video teasing a debut single.
Either this is a huge troll or Carr really thinks that he can launch a music career. Either way, it’s certainly caught the attention of many.
In terms of the video, I’m not really sure where to start. We only get 15 short seconds, but there’s some things that need to be analyzed.
First off, the all denim outfit choice is a bold move. It looks like he is on his way to a Backstreet Boys reunion concert. Second, we don’t hear Carr sing at all. There don’t seem to be any videos on the internet of him singing in the past. A little bit of a red flag, don’t you think? Lastly, the video links you to DerekCarrMusic.com, which gives you one option, and that’s to download a poster that’s coming soon.
When I think of kids looking up to Derek Carr posters on their bedroom walls, I think pictures of him throwing touchdowns, not posing suggestively on top of cars. But hey, to each their own.
Carr is already selling out stadiums and maybe now he wants to sell out concert venues as well.
For the time being, I’m sure the Raiders want him focused on football, as the team has high expectations heading into the upcoming season.
For now, we are left waiting to see what else Derek Carr Music has in store.
