No, it’s not 1987. No, you’re not about to watch Three Men and a Baby. No, that’s not Tom Selleck. That’s Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and yes, that’s the most epic mustache I have ever seen too.
Rogers stepped onto the field today sporting a mustache that even Groucho Marx would envy, and leave it to Twitter to turn a funny thing into something hilarious.
The team even devoted an entire montage to the history of Rodgers’ facial hair.
The Packers, who were kings of the NFC North, will defend their honor off the heels of Rodgers (and his fantastic facial hair) this season when they face the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 10.
They are coming off of a preseason loss to the Denver Broncos and will face the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday before starting the regular season.
Rodgers was recently revealed as one of three athletes featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated for its NFL preview issue that features different covers for different regions.
He’s been in the news the last few years as his publicized romance with actress Olivia Munn went south. Some fans felt this could be Rodgers way of acting out after the split, especially after she was spotted attending the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather fight with Jamie Foxx.
Rodgers led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2011 when they faced the Pittsburgh Steelers at Super Bowl XLV. He was named that game’s Most Valuable Player.
Their 2016 season saw them manage an NFC North title and a playoff appearance. The team defeated the New York Giants in the Wild Card round, then the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round. They were eliminated by the Atlanta Falcons.
