Who are the top fantasy football waiver targets going into week 8?
Another week in the NFL is in the books, and as usual, some players stood out who may not have been on fantasy players’ radars. Sifting through who’s worth picking up and who’s not can be difficult, but that’s where I come in. Here are 10 players worth grabbing off the waiver wire this week in fantasy football:
10. Josh McCown, QB, Jets
I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
*whispers* Josh McCown is actually kind of a decent fantasy option again. I know, it’s weird.
The Jets were supposed to be awful this year, and yet here they are pushing teams to the brink almost every week. Leading the charge is McCown, who has done a positively Ryan Fitzpatrick-ian job of making the Jets look better than they probably are this season.
McCown tore up the pathetic Patriots defense in Week 6, but then came back and did even better against a solid Dolphins defense this past weekend, to the tune of 209 yards and three touchdowns, with a rushing score for good measure.
A couple of relatively stingy defenses are on tap the next two weeks, with matchups against Atlanta and Buffalo. But these Jets and McCown have already surprised a number of times this season. For a bye week fill-in or a QB2, you could definitely do worse.
