These teams are in must-win situations

NFL News

As the NFL playoffs get closer and closer, games continue to get more important. These five teams enter must-win situations in Week 10.

What a weird NFL season it’s been. With so much parity, it’s no exaggeration when to call the NFL a week-to-week league. We think we have an idea of who’s going to win and then it ends up being the complete opposite. The Eagles look like the only clear favorites through nine weeks.

As we head into the second half of the season, every game matters. Teams are fighting for division crowns and Wild-Card spots. There are five teams this week who especially need to come away with wins in Week 10. If they don’t, they’re faced with big trouble ahead.

5. Seattle Seahawks

The reality is, the Seahawks aren’t that feared team they used to be. They aren’t the feared opponent teams were scared to face week in and week out. Just ask the Washington Redskins, who went into Seattle last week and pulled off the 17-14 upset win. Now the Seahawks are in an unfamiliar position in NFC East and looking to get back a top of the division. That can all change with an important Thursday Night Football matchup against the Cardinals tonight.

We know how loaded the defense is and they aren’t the problem. The problem isn’t even in the passing game either, it’s come with inconsistencies in the run game. The Seahawks are averaging over 100 yards on the ground this season but you wouldn’t notice it. Whether it’s been Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls or C.J. Prosise, there hasn’t been a clear running back that’s emerged from the pack.  Sure the addition of an All-Pro left tackle helps, but there still needs to be a feature back running the ball and we haven’t seen that so far this season.

With one of the hardest schedules finishing out the season, tonight offers the best chance to get back into the win column, but the Seahawks can’t take their opponent lightly. Even at 4-4, the Cardinals still aren’t a team to write off. They’re a divisional opponent and are all too familiar with Pete Carroll’s squad. This is a game the Seahawks should win and need to win if they’re legitimate contenders this season.

It’s a primetime game and the Seahawks need to show off their primetime talent.
