Buccaneers at Dolphins: Highlights, score and recap

Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

On Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Dolphins lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What did we learn from this Week 11 tilt?

Ten weeks after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins were supposed to kick off the season against each other, they finally got together at Hard Rock Stadium.

It’s been a rough year for both of these clubs. The Dolphins are currently 4-5 and in the midst of a three-game losing streak that includes losses to the Baltimore Ravens (40-0) and Carolina Panthers (45-21). The Bucs were 3-6 and coming off a 15-10 victory over the New York Jets. The win snapped a five-game skid.

Both teams needed a win in the worst way if they intended to remain in the postseason chase. And it was the Buccaneers that emerged with a wild 30-20 triumph.

Three Stars

1. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

It was a solid performance for the journeyman signal-caller as Fitzpatrick made his second start of the season. He hit on 22-of-37 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns in the 10-point win at South Florida.

2. WR Mike Evans

Back from a one-game suspension, Evans was targeted 10 times and hauled in five passes for 92 yards as Tampa Bay defeated an AFC East opponent for the second straight Sunday and raised their record to 4-6.

3. LB Kwon Alexander

The emerging defender finished the afternoon with a team-high eight tackles and one interception as the Buccaneers won their second straight game following a five-game losing streak.

Odds

This battle of the Sunshine State saw the visiting Buccaneers enter Sunday afternoon’s tilt at Hard Rock Stadium as a 1-point favorite. This despite the fact that Koetter’s club began the game having lost six straight road games dating back to last season.

Next Week

For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s the first of two meetings with the defending NFC champions. And it’s worth noting that the Bucs have won three of the last four encounters with the Atlanta Falcons. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins are also on the road and against a divisional rival as they take on the New England Patriots.
