Antonio Brown ruled out for Week 16

In their NFL Week 16 matchup against the Houston Texans, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be without star wide receiver Antonio Brown.

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost a tough one in the Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots, and the game was not the only thing they lost. Star wide receiver Antonio Brown had to leave the game with a lower leg injury, and he has been ruled out for the team’s Week 16 matchup against the Houston Texans. Brown was a leading candidate for the MVP Award this season, and if he does win, he would be the first wide receiver to do so.

It looks like the Cleveland Browns will be sticking with DeShone Kizer at quarterback, at least for this week’s matchup against the Chicago Bears. Kizer won the starting job during the Summer, but has struggled to hang onto the reins during his turbulent rookie season. Cleveland has yet to win a game, and with the first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft locked up, the odds are the franchise may select one of these elite quarterback prospects coming out.

The Carolina Panthers continue to win, although there is a lot of issues going on in the front office. Team owner Jerry Richardson has relinquished day to day operations, giving the job to Tina Becker. With questions surrounding Richardson, celebrities have reached out with a desire to buy the Panthers, including music mogul Diddy. Colin Kaepernick and Stephen Curry have said they would like to join Diddy on this venture, but who knows if it is an actual possibility at  this point.

Aaron Rodgers made a courageous return to the Green Bay Packers lineup this past Sunday, only eight weeks after breaking his collarbone. Rodgers threw three interceptions in his return, and now back on IR and done for the year. It’s a tough break, but it may be what is best for the franchise in the long run.

Finally, the Jacksonville Jaguars clinched a playoff spot on Sunday, and will now look to wrap up the AFC South in Week 16. It has been a tremendous turnaround for the franchise, which has not made it to the playoffs since 2007. Quarterback Blake Bortles is playing the best football of his career, and the defense may be the best in the AFC. Can they compete with Pittsburgh and New England? Only time will tell.
