Best NFL highlights of Week 16: The butt interception!

NFL News

Here are the 10 best highlights from Week 16.

While we are sitting around enjoying the holidays, all 16 teams were out in full force yesterday and what a week of football it’s been. With just two games left on Christmas day, there are plenty of highlights to fill the reel. Whether it was in playoff clinching scenarios or meaningless games we’ve got it all for you.

10. Jets pull out the trickery

When you have nothing to play for this late in the season, why not pull out the trickery? The Jets caught the Chargers completely off guard at the beginning of yesterday’s 14-7 loss with an onside kick. Chandler Catanzaro lined up the kick perfectly from the tee and the Chargers had absolutely no chance. It was the perfect call from Todd Bowles.

Playoff hopefuls like the Chargers are always in danger this kind of year. Games against teams like the Jets are trap games and the Chargers almost fell victim to that. They escaped by the skin of their teeth are alive for a playoff berth heading into the final week of the season. Anthony Lynn will look to avoid the same fate against the Raiders next week.

9. Fitzy completes a pass!

Larry Fitzgerald on his way to the Hall of Fame as one of the game’s best wide receivers and is continuing to add to the resume. In a 23-0 shutout over the helpless New York Giants, Fitzgerald completed the first pass of his career early in the second quarter. He took the end around from Blaine Gabbert and had a wide open pass to John Brown for the first down. It didn’t get much easier than that.

What can’t this man do? Fitzgerald is just trying to pad the stat sheet at this point and I can’t blame him. He’s on the last legs of his career and the Cardinals aren’t going anywhere in the playoff picture. At least he’ll have another career first to add to the list. Maybe he’ll even be in running as the starter under center next season.
