With the NFL’s relaxed celebration rules, it’s a great time to take a look back at the 30 best NFL touchdown celebrations of all time.
30. Cam Newton dab
This is a controversial one but I think it barely makes the list. As great of a player Cam Newton is, you have to respect his touchdown celebrations. While Newton is known for giving his touchdown balls away to kids in the stands, he also likes to hit the dab before it.
Any person not a millennial is going to hate this because they think the dab is dumb but bear with me here. While I don’t think the dab is one of the most creative of dance moves, if you would even go as far to call it that, Newton still pulls it off. After all it’s his signature celebration. Once Newton gets into the end zone he hits the dab with perfection.
You might think it’s stupid but it’s still a celebration to remember. Newton’s celebration gained the popularity of the simple dance move as it became a worldwide phenomenon. Before you know it, kids everywhere were doing it and Newton was the catalyst for that. What kid growing up and playing football wouldn’t want to celebrate like the MVP? That’s the kind of influence that some of these athletes have and it’s incredible to see.
As long as Newton keeps scoring touchdowns in his career, we’ll continue to see the dab. And while people can complain, don’t knock it until you try it. The dab celebration comes in at the very last spot but deserves to be here anyway.
