The 2018 NFL Draft got even more quarterback-heavy, as both Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen declared themselves eligible this past week.
This past week, the 2018 NFL Draft saw some big names added to it, as both Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen made themselves eligible to be drafted. In addition, running backs like Ronald Jones Jr. from USC, and Notre Dame’s Josh Adams also declared early. While college football may suffer next year due to their leaving, the NFL will certainly benefit, as this draft class has the potential to be one of the deeper we have seen in a long time.
With the Divisional Round ahead of us, and the Wild Card Round in the rearview mirror, lets take a look at our latest 2018 NFL Mock Draft. The Cleveland Browns will be picking twice in the first four picks, and later in round one, the Buffalo Bills will pick back-to-back. Lets get started with pick No. 1, as the Browns take another stab at a franchise quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns were one of the worst teams in NFL history in 2017, as they joined the Detroit Lions as the only two teams ever to go through a full 16-game season without a win. For their efforts, the Browns will select first overall next April, and they are certain to bring in a franchise quarterback with the selection. There are a bunch of big-name quarterbacks in this draft class, but the main man from UCLA may be the one who is ready to come in and succeed right away.
Josh Rosen declared for the NFL Draft this past week, but many expected him to do so. He struggled through an injury-plagued 2017 season, and the Bruins do not have a ton of talent on either sides of the ball. New head coach Chip Kelly likely would have loved a shot to coach Rosen, but the signal-caller made the right move by declaring early.
At the next level, Rosen should be a solid player, as he has the size, and arm strength to make all the throws. He does struggle a bit with decision making, but he is getting a great quarterback mind in head coach Hue Jackson. The Browns actually pick twice in the first four picks, so there is certain to be a bunch of young, solid talent on this roster in 2018.
