The Green Bay Packers have Super Bowl aspirations for 2018. All won’t go according to plan though, watch for these five bold predictions to come true.
There are certain truisms that will almost certainly apply to Green Bay’s 2018 season. If Aaron Rodgers is healthy, he’ll be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Furthermore, his good health means Green Bay will be in the hunt for a playoff berth no matter how the defense plays.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t a fair amount of uncertainty too though. Jordy Nelson is gone which means a lot of receptions are up for grabs. The defense, as always, is a question mark. If they can equal what the offense provides then Green Bay could be headed for a Super Bowl.
Read on to discover five bold predictions about what will happen for Green Bay in 2018. The first focuses on who will pick up Nelson’s slack.
5. Randall Cobb will lead Green Bay in catches
Davante Adams is getting all of the preseason publicity, but it doesn’t mean he’s going to emerge as the team’s number one receiving target this season. It’s very likely that Randall Cobb will catch more passes from Rodgers.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Cobb will become the team’s number one wideout. Adams could produce more yards on less catches. It only means that Cobb is going to get his hands on the ball a ton this season.
For the record, Cobb only finished eight receptions behind Adams last season. The “bold” nature of this prediction is attributed to all the hype Adams is receiving at the moment. He’s a very talented receiver, but he’s not that much better than Cobb at the moment.
Both guys are going to get plenty of chances to make plays, but Cobb will be the more reliable target for Rodgers. Don’t be shocked if he flirts with a 100 catch season.
