Terrell Owens declines invite to the Hall of Fame induction

Terrell Owens has declined an invitation to the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.

Terrell Owens was known for his “diva” antics — both on and off the field — when he was a player. Now some may say his latest move cements him as the biggest diva in the history of the NFL.

NFL.com’s Ian Rappaport is reporting via a statement made by Owens, that he will skip the ceremony that will put him among the all-time greats of the game.

While I am incredibly appreciative of this opportunity, I have made the decision to publicly decline my invitation to attend the induction ceremony in Canton.

The antics of Owens are legendary. From grabbing pom poms of the cheerleaders to eating popcorn after famously saying “Get you popcorn ready,” to placing a football on the Dallas star to doing sit-ups in his driveway. Owens has always been a me guy.

This is actually a perfect way for T.O. to end his time with the NFL. The Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony is supposed to be about celebrating the greatest individual achievement anyone can reach in sports, and Owens will on his own somewhere away from Canton, OH.

Some say that the Pro Football Hall of Fame is the greatest team in football. After his class is enshrined, there will be 318 members of that team. So, it shouldn’t shock anyone that TO will do his own thing instead of celebrating with the living members of his new team.

It’s just T.O. being T.O.
