Each NFL team’s best under the radar offseason addition

NFL Free Agency, NFL Offseason

In the NFL, it’s hard to do anything without garnering attention. A look at a player pickup this year by each of the 32 teams which may have gone unnoticed.

Due to the incredible obsession with the NFL, an under-the-radar move by any one of the 32 teams is somewhat hard to achieve. The hot stove-like atmosphere of pro football’s offseason has made this league a year-round focal point. Every move by every club is thoroughly discussed, dissected, devalued, p praised, etc.

Still, because there’s an onus on some of the bigger names around the game, a few prominent but underpublicized players wind up switching teams either via free agency or the trade route. And as for the NFL draft, the emphasis is certainly on a first-round pick and less on those selections afterwards. Of course, there’s also those undrafted free agents and we have certainly seen those players come out of nowhere to make an impact.

Hence, here’s a look at all 32 clubs and a few moves that might have gotten by you over the last few months.

Arizona Cardinals: CB Jamar Taylor

The Arizona Cardinals are starting anew these days and the changes can be seen all over the organization. The head coach is now former Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. The team will also feature an entirely different quarterbacking corps. All four of the team’s signal-callers from a year ago – Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton, Blaine Gabbert and Matt Barkley – are no longer with the club for one reason or another.

Still, this is an Arizona team that figures to still be formable on defense thanks to Wilks and his coordinator Al Holcomb. One of the moves the Cardinals made in mid-May was a deal to obtain cornerback Jamar Taylor from the Cleveland Browns for a sixth-round pick in 2019.

The five-year pro is an underrated player to begin with and now joins a secondary that includes perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson but no longer employs Tyrann Mathieu and Justin Bethel. While he did not pick off a pass in 2017, Taylor is solid on coverage and even better when it comes to run support.
