Tom Brady gets royal birthday treatment at Patriots training camp

New England Patriots

In addition to Friday’s training camp, quarterback Tom Brady was treated to a birthday celebration fit for a king.

It’s no secret that in New England, Tom Brady is more or less considered to be royalty. And it appears that he’s treated the same way amongst his own teammates as well.

Friday is Brady’s 41st birthday, and Patriots training camp for the day was turned into a massive birthday bash for the five-time Super Bowl champion and reigning NFL MVP. And even the fans attending practice for the day got to be a part of the celebration.

As Brady ran onto the field for practice, he was greeted by hundreds of fans singing “Happy Birthday.”

And then, the best feature of all, was the humongous red velvet cake carved into the No. 12. This cake was big enough to feed the entire Patriots team as well as the fans attending practice, and then probably still have plenty left over. Surely Brady ate at least a small slice of his enormous birthday cake, even though he probably hasn’t had a sweet in about 10 years.

In addition to the cake, there was also a life-size Tom Brady balloon sculpture, as well as life-size birthday cards in the shape of the number 12 and a goat that fans could sign.

Even Patriots head coach Bill Belichick chimed in during his news conference to give a little bit of praise to the guy that has been his starting quarterback since 2001.

“He’s had a tremendous career,” Belichick said, according to USA Today. “He’s had a spectacular career. He still plays at a tremendous level.”

I guess when you win five Super Bowl titles, appear in eight Super Bowls, and make the playoffs in 15 of your 16 seasons as a starter, you get a little bit bigger birthday celebration than the average person.
