The New York Giants would have the top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft if the season ended tomorrow, so let us take a look at our latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft.
With Week 8 of the 2018 NFL season in the books, the New York Giants currently find themselves staring down the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. They head to their bye week sitting at 1-7, and after passing on a quarterback in this past April’s draft, there is no way they do the same in 2019.
Here is our latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft heading into Week 9, based on the latest draft order by Tankathon.
The New York Giants put on another terrible offensive display on Sunday, as they could really do nothing against the Washington Redskins. Heading to their bye week sitting at 1-7, it is clear the Eli Manning Era in New York is over, and it is time for the team to go out and find his successor after the season ends.
Last year, the Giants passed on a quarterback in the first round, despite the fact they had the No. 2 overall pick, and they could have had a player like Sam Darnold. Instead, they went with Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, who is an absolute stud, but leaves them with a gaping hole at the quarterback position moving forward.
Justin Herbert has yet to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft, but the lure of possibly being the first overall pick would have to entice him to come out early. He has the size and arm talent to make every throw at the next level, and the Giants certainly need someone to lead this team now that Manning is apparently finished performing at a high level.
