The winning streak is over, but there were ample opportunities to make money during Week 9. In Week 10, we test how bad some of the bad teams in the NFL really are.
Week 9 brought out some very interesting results throughout the NFL. Julio Jones scored his first touchdown and the Atlanta Falcons took it to the Washington Redskins. The Pittsburgh Steelers put the first nail into the Ravens coffin. There are no more undefeated teams after the New Orleans Saints took care of business against the Los Angeles Rams. Oh, and Nathan Peterman is still very, very bad.
This week, the line makers are really testing you. There are plenty of lines going well above a touchdown, and there are some very interesting home underdogs. It seems like Vegas is really testing bettors to bet big on the good teams, even if they might take the foot off the gas.
Honestly, this would be a good week for parlays. Betting on three teams at once to bring the spread down is a good idea. However, that’s not why you’re here this week. We are going through every game on the NFL schedule and we will pick the winner.
Last Week: 6-7
This Season: 59-65-5
As usual, we get our lines from Westgate.
Carolina Panthers @ Pittsburgh Steelers (-4)
We start the week with a banger. These two teams are in the exact same position. We know they are one of the best teams in their conference, but they are definitely not THE best team in their conference. The Steelers and Panthers are more than likely going to make the playoffs, and it’s almost a certainty they will both play on the first weekend of the playoffs.
Still, both these teams made their way into the top seven of most website’s power rankings. As we know, anything can happen when it comes to the playoffs, so every win matters. These two teams have a combined four losses (and one tie). They are both extremely talented on offense, and chippy on defense.
This one is too close to call, especially since it’s on a Thursday night. Either one of these teams can win on any given night, so facing off against each other is hard to predict. That’s why bettors should take the points here. The Panthers should be three point underdogs. Since they were given the extra point, give them your bet.
