The Fandom 250 ranks the top 250 fanbases in the world, covering anything and everything from entertainment to sports and more.

The NFL is king in America. The sport continues to cultivate some of the biggest fanbases in the world, including our top fandom of 2018, the Cleveland Browns.

For the NFL, it’s been a long journey to become as popular as it currently is. The league began in 1920 and really didn’t make its way onto the national scene until the late 1950s, when Johnny Unitas and the popularization of television brought it to millions of Americans.

Since then, the sport has become a juggernaut, and on our list, it gave us the most teams of any league in the world. This winter, the NFL has a whopping 17 fandoms on the docket.

Across the league, there are so many long-standing traditions that stand out. In Cleveland, ti’s the Dawg Pound. In Oakland, look no further than the Black Hole. With the Packers, the cheeseheads are everywhere at Lambeau Field. The list goes on and on.

As for the Fandom 250, it ranks the best fandoms throughout the world and across every genre of entertainment. While the NFL is extremely popular, not all fanbases made it in. The rankings of each fanbase were carefully calculated, and went head-up with some of the largest fandom on earth.
