Kirk Cousins rips into Adam Thielen on sideline (Video)

Minnesota Vikings

It seems the pressure is finally starting to get to the Vikings. Kirk Cousins went off on Adam Thielen on the sidelines of Sunday’s game.

It’s safe to say things haven’t gone according to plan for Kirk Cousins and the Vikings this season. The talented quarterback signed a massive contract this offseason and Minnesota hoped he could lead them to a Super Bowl. Instead, they’re struggling to even quality for the playoffs.

The pressure clearly started to get to the Vikings offense on Sunday. Just before halftime of Minnesota’s game against the rival Bears the team’s emotions started to boil over for fans across America to see. Specifically, Cousins went after Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen. He clearly wasn’t pleased with the way Thielen ran one of his routes.

Vikings fans will hope this is just a sign of how badly both players want to win and qualify for the postseason. It’s not as if either player will be leaving Minnesota anytime soon. The team is firmly, and contractually committed to both guys. Mike Zimmer’s charge will be to build around both guys moving forward.

That may be a harder sell if Minnesota loses ugly to Chicago. In sharp contrast to the Vikings, Matt Nagy and the Bears are one of the NFL’s most surprising teams. Few experts believed they had the firepower to win double-digit games in 2018. Heading into the final week of the season at 11-5 goes down as a huge surprise.

That surprise still comes at the expense of Cousins, Thielen and the Vikings. Their roster may be full of big name stars, but they haven’t produced this season. It shouldn’t surprise anyone to learn that some players aren’t getting along at this point in the year. What we saw in public today is probably tame compared to what will happen in the Vikings locker room if their season ends before the playoffs.
